The Horde is a hybrid action-strategy video game developed by Toys for Bob, originally released by Crystal Dynamix on the 3DO platform and ported to the Sega Saturn and MS-DOS in 1994. I argue that people’s sentiment regarding their in-game communities share compelling similarities with that of real- life communities, hinting that perhaps nationalistic sentiments could arise in virtual settings.
